Deliciously scented flowers are followed by small round fruit on bushy shrubs that have better cold-tolerance and higher yields than limes. A cross between the Key lime and kumquat, they were hybridized at the beginning of the 20th century and are used in cocktails, conserves and candies but may also be eaten skin-and-all. Containerized plants flower and fruit year-round. Must be wintered indoors.
