Regal and elegant, with a tropical appeal, each stout stem is topped with a dangling cluster of orange-red flowers that are topped with a crown of green foliage. Forms a wide clump of basal foliage that dies back by early summer. Large, fragile bulbs should be planted sideways to avoid bulb rot and are best left undisturbed once planted; mulch well in winter. Deer resistant. Fritillaria imperialis rubra
