Amaryllis / Hippeastrum spp.
Like candy store peppermints, every flower is a different combination of creamy white, pale pink, deep rose and red in variable stripes and featherings.
Usually blooms 5-8 weeks after planted. Each Amaryllis bulb will produce a succession of two thick stems, 20-24” tall, topped with a bouquet of 4-5 intensely colored, outward-facing flowers. They may be kept for years as a potted houseplant with a leafy summer growth and regular winter bloom.
