Like a white carnation with light touches of butterscotch orange, the ruffled and pleated petals have lacy fringed edges and swirl elegantly to hide the lime green center. Outermost petals are boldly striped with green as if each huge bloom is held in a rose-like calyx.
Tulips are colorful and striking, bridging the gap from early spring to summer. They make excellent, long-lasting cut flowers, adding a dramatic flair to any arrangement. With the exception of the Darwin Hybrids and species tulips, most will not bloom in the second year and are often planted as annuals. Combine with Narcissus to protect from investigating squirrels and voles.
