Reed-like, bright green, forking stems broadly spill over a pot edge, eventually looking like a very complicated, three-dimensional genealogy chart rather than spaghetti! Golden buds open to dangling, greenish-white flowers and pinkish-white fruit, providing the other common name, Mistletoe Cactus. Rhipsalis are epiphytic jungle or forest cacti like the beloved Christmas Cactus (Schlumbergera spp.) with a similar leafless form; flowers and fruit emerge directly from the fleshy stems. Flowering is influenced by temperature; steps for encouraging blooms are similar to those for Christmas Cactus.
