Dark green, glossy leaves with a sharp mint flavor overlaid with a chocolate scent, on upright stems with spikes of small lavender flowers in summer. Attracts pollinators but is deer and rabbit resistant. Spreads aggressively by rhizomes and is best grown in large containers or sited where it is limited by hardscape and/or allowed to spread as a groundcover.
