Upright, feathery, light green sterile fronds in a majestic, vase-shaped display with a crown of brown, bead-like fertile fronds that persist through winter. Source of the asparagus-like fiddleheads harvested in early spring and eaten raw or sautéed. Vigorous and easy to grow in a consistently moist area, spreading by underground rhizomes. Deer and rabbit resistant.
