Amaryllis / Hippeastrum spp.
Pale creamy green blends into a peachy terra cotta along narrow, deeply folded petals around a deep reddish chestnut throat and long greenish-white stamens. In the exotic Cybister group, often called butterfly amaryllis for its spidery shape.
Usually blooms 5-8 weeks after planted. Each Amaryllis bulb will produce a succession of two thick stems, 20-24” tall, topped with a bouquet of 4-5 intensely colored, outward-facing flowers. They may be kept for years as a potted houseplant with a leafy summer growth and regular winter bloom. See our Bowood Plant Care Guide "Planting Amaryllis Bulbs" for potting information and after-bloom care.
