Rounded and ropey – like long, dark green dreadlocks with spines! – the trailing stems of this cactus are made to hang in the sun. Bright purplish-pink, tubular flowers appear randomly up and down the stems in spring and early summer. Water regularly during the growing season, reducing in fall to almost nothing during winter dormancy. Vigorous and fast-growing, it is easily propagated by cuttings; be careful of the spines! Aporocactus flagelliformis syn. Disocactus flagelliformis
