Showy clusters of small, rose-purple flowers atop stiff, tall stems with dark bluish green, lance-like leaves. Numerous attractive seedpods follow; seeds may be saved for planting later or allowed to self-seed. Missouri native that is one of the principal host milkweeds for Monarch caterpillars in the Midwest. Also attracts bees and other butterflies; deer resistant.
