Huge, paddle-shaped leaves are bright olive-green with a strong burgundy midrib and burgundy-gold undersides on stiff cylindrical stems. Fast-growing, but doesn’t usually produce suckers like true banana; sensitive to digging, best kept in a container. May be brought inside as a large houseplant or overwintered in a dormant state. Ensete ventricosum ‘Maurelii’
