Deep maroon-black, nodding flowers are held on tall stems above the blue-green foliage which spreads in a luxuriant, low, ferny mound. Spring bloom often continues sporadically into summer, especially when given additional water. Deadhead regularly to promote continuous flowering; if necessary, entire plant may be cut back by one-third to reinvigorate. Deer and rabbit resistant.
