Starry, lilac flowers are followed by small, round fruits that are an exotic dark purple-black, transitioning to olive green and eventually bright red. Semi-glossy, deep purple to black leaves serve as a perfect background. A great container plant selected as a foil for the reds and oranges of autumnal plants, the fruits are actually edible though very hot (30,000 SHU).
