Batik Wax-Resist Dyeing

2 PM – 4 PM
Taught by Holly Rogers

Batik is a traditional dye method using melted wax, tools, and objects to make patterns on fabric. The hardened wax resists dye and when washed out, leaves only your visible design behind. In this class, students will use hot soy wax to create a patterned design on a large cotton bandana and then dye it with the color of their choice. All supplies are included, and everyone will leave with a wearable piece of art.
