In this beginner’s level block-printing workshop, artist Emily Choi will lead students in creating a set of block printed pumpkin prints. You will explore the fundamentals of block printing including how to transfer an image onto a linoleum block, the importance of positive and negative space, and ways to create depth and texture through carving techniques. You will then ink and print your design on Japanese mulberry and Strathmore printmaking papers. All supplies are included, and you will go home with your set of prints as well as your block to use for future carving projects.
