The classic white stripes of the zebra plant are subtly blurred and encroach upon the dark green in tiny spots that resemble a light snow. Rosy stems and pale undersides heighten the glow of this arresting plant. Slightly more slow-growing and needing a bit more light than its dark green cousin. Lemon yellow flowers emerge from golden bracts; though the flowers are short-lived, the bracts will last up to six weeks. Flowering is triggered by intensity of the indirect light rather than seasonality; cut the bracts once they fade to encourage re-bloom. Loves warmth, high humidity, and frequent, spare watering; in the winter months, allow to dry out a bit between waterings. Prefers being pot-bound but takes well to pruning after flowering.
