Featured in the book is well known St. Louis flower farmer Mimo Davis of Urban Buds who will be joining Teresa for a morning filled with conversation and inspiration. 

Black Flora: Inspiring Profiles of Floriculture's New Vanguard is the first book to feature profiles of contemporary Black experts innovating in the world of flowers. Author and longtime gardener, Teresa Speight, unearths the floral legacies of the past and present, while providing a source of inspiration for younger generations of plant lovers.

About Teresa Speight 
Teresa is the Urban Garden and Container Garden Chair, District 1, for National Garden Clubs, Inc., and the founder and president of the Jabali Amani Garden Collective, a garden club for Minority women who enjoy gardening. Through her blog and podcast, Cottage in the Court, she offers a unique perspective on connecting with the earth, as well as curated garden experiences for small groups. 

About Mimo Davis  
Mimo Davis founded and operates Urban Buds in the heart of St. Louis with Miranda Duschack. Through her work with Extension and as a Vice President of the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers, Mimo shares her vast horticultural knowledge with other growers and new flower farmers from across the country. Prior to founding Urban Buds with Miranda, Mimo operated Wild Thang Farms in Ashland, Missouri for more than a decade.
