Block carving is a fun and soothing printing technique that can be used for so many applications. In this workshop, artist Emily Choi will help students design and carve a printing block that will be used to create a set of seven holiday cards. Design options will be provided, or students are welcome to draw their own. After carving, everyone will use printmaker ink and ink rollers to hand print their designs onto folded cards. You will also be shown how to add color to your printed cards to enhance the design. All supplies are provided, and you will go home with your set of cards and carved block to use for future printing projects.
