Strappy and smooth, the dark green, lily-like leaves are held in an overlapping, upright rosette and produce a tall, narrow fountain of red-violet bracts carrying tiny yellow flowers. Exotic but easy to care for in well-drained medium; central vase must be kept full and the water replaced periodically. After blooming the plant will produce a pup or offshoot which, with patience, will mature to a flowering plant in one to three years. Possible variation on Guzmania ‘Indian Night’
