Tiny purple flowers are followed by clusters of round, black fruits that mature to bright red. Changing colors are staggered, providing a multi-colored display. Small, outward spreading, deep purple to black leaves serve as a perfect background. A great container plant selected as a foil for the reds and oranges of autumnal plants, the ornamental fruits are actually edible though very hot (30,000 SHU).
