Tillandsia are epiphytes that live high in the branches of trees and far from any soil, gaining their common name of Air Plants. They thrive in bright indirect light, preferably close to an eastern or western window. Because the light conditions and ambient humidity will vary in each situation, we recommend that you begin by watering your Tillandsia once a week, staying on a regular watering schedule, and being very observant. The most reliable watering method is to hand-dip them in water for a slow count to 5. They will turn a slightly darker color when they are adequately hydrated. Rainwater is best; if using tap water, let it sit in a bucket for a day. Alternatively, use a heavy duty mister with tepid rainwater. Be observant: misting may require more frequency!
